A New Wildlife Addition

In the spring of 2022, Johnny Morris (owner and founder of Bass Pro Shops) announced the opening of the AMFF gallery in the Leigh H. Perkins Hall at the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium. The expertly curated and designed gallery tells fly-fishing’s greatest stories, including its journey to become one of the world’s most fascinating and beloved sports. The 3,000 square foot space displays countless treasures from our permanent collection, features historic and contemporary fly tyers, and also highlights the evolution of modern fly-fishing film.

Paragon Fabrication was contracted for custom fabrication of interior treatments all designed by the AMFF (American museum of fly fishing).

Custom Designs Honoring The History

Paragon's work consisted of fabrication and installation of multiple display cases for historical artifacts and photos. Paragon also constructed stands and displays for printed image panels that told the story of the history of fly fishing. Most all of the case work was internally illuminated with LED lighting. The design for the casework called for it to be aged based on a sample fly fishing tin that the AMFF provided as a reference. The display cases were very sensitive to the lighting and material requirements to house historical artifacts.

The scope included multiple table and wall displays, case fabrication, multiple printed signs, placard fabrication for artifacts, monitor shrouds, and display stands. Paragon got a contract in early February and the facility opened March 30, 2022.
